Blue Cliff

Having heard that certain traders were circumventing the taxes on goods passing through the Sablevert Islands ports, Garrion Mer’Guerre ordered his ships to patrol the area, find the smugglers, and exact payment for those cutting corners. The majority of merchants were only skimming off the top, paying fewer taxes than what their shipments were worth;.

A renown officer of Mer’Guerre’s navy found a valuable cache. Captain Arlan Lavonne, commanding the vessel the Gemmed Rapier, cornered a ship sneaking through customs at Blue Cliff, a lesser port of the Sablevert Islands. The captured trader had a cargo containing expensive wines, fine rugs, and raw ore. The untaxed cargo was seized and delivered to House Mer’Guerre for compensation.
